About the 2025 themes
The pursuit of knowledge is a journey filled with questions, discoveries, and breakthroughs. Our 2025 themes invite you to explore two key aspects: challenging common misunderstandings and celebrating the moments—big or small—that propel your field or personal journey forward.
Part of research is embracing the unknown—identifying what we don’t yet know, why we don’t know it, and how we can work toward answers. With this theme, we invite you to pull back the curtain on research by demystifying common misunderstandings and digging into the questions that often arise in the public eye. What are the myths about your field that need debunking? What mysteries still prevail? What misconceptions shape the public’s view?
Research is a system of accumulating knowledge over time. Sometimes, new discoveries happen suddenly and make you shout, ‘Eureka!’ Other times, progress feels like climbing a mountain—slow and steady. With this theme, we invite you to share stories about these ‘Eureka moments’ and gradual changes. How have these moments influenced your field or personal journey?
We welcome pitches and contributors from all fields, and you can write about any topic that tickles your interest and from any perspective as long as you take inspiration from the current theme in relation to research/science! We do most of the visuals in-house, but are happy to support collaborations between art & research, intersections between different fields, or any other interesting initiatives.
You can pitch an article from until November 2025. Articles will be published between January and December 2025.
