Marcel Gil

I am a PhD researcher at Eero Castrén’s lab in the Neuroscience Center at the University of Helsinki. My research is focused on the interaction between enhanced neuroplasticity and the environmental factors, and how this interaction affects the therapeutic potential of antidepressants. I joined TSB on April 2023, and currently I am a vice-chair of TSB as well as the team leader of The Science Slam. I am passionate about the power that science communication can have in breaching the gap between research and the general public. Through the Science Slam we want to show that science, as complex as it can be, can be fun and is applicable to every single one of us!
