I’m a second year PhD student working at O’Brain lab at the University of Helsinki within the department of Psychology and Logopedics (Meilahti campus). Born in Rwanda but grew and lived in Greece for most of my life. I then moved to France to study Biology and Cell Physiology (B.Sc.), followed by Biology and Health Sciences with a specific focus on gut-brain axis (M.Sc.) and finally, a degree in Clinical Research (M.Sc.). As a Bachelor I was in awe when people were able to communicate science to the public in a simple nuanced and fun way. It was back then when realized that it is not enough for scientists to understand scientific concepts. The public always was and is a very important stakeholder, and they need to know and understand why, what and how we are working on.
