Lost in another ugly Facebook comments section? Online trolls and hate speech have unfortunately become commonplace encounters in our everyday lives. Our guest this week is the wonderful Annina Claesson (Twitter @AnninaClaesson, Instagram @thenannis), a grad student in Science Po in Paris and a freelance journalist and writer. We hear about her important research about Twitter trolls and the online harassment that female journalists face in their midst. Who are they? What are companies and governments doing about the comments? Is any support offered to the journalists? (Spoiler… not much!) Tune in to learn more about what we know so far, what we still need more research on, as well as hear about how we need to up our game to keep our journalists safe.
Your hosts this week are Katja Kaurinkoski and Giuliano Didio.
